History of IHT
1980 - 1989
In 1980 IHT (Iberhospitex, S.A.) was founded in Barcelona by Aniceto Lopez, who developed the first products in the areas of single-use surgical clothing and drainage devices like Drenofast.
In 1985 IHT moved to Lliçà de Vall.
The international sales of Drenofast began. For the first time, a wound drainage system developed in Spain received international recognition. IHT's prestige increased as it developed new products (Operfilm, Operfix and Operpor), gradually gaining national and international relevance.
1990 - 1997
In 1990 IHT Medical was founded. IHT Medical foucussed on the importation and distribution of single-use hospital supplies in the Spanish market. In 1993 IHT expanded its boundaries with its own branch in France, under the name of Clinical IHT. The main activity of the French company was to distribute IHT's products in France.
1998
IHT creates the Cordynamic division; a complete line of products for interventional cardiology. This new line of products was born out of the R&D&i work undertaken by the company. Cordynamic products are being used in more than 40 countries around the world.
Between 2001 - 2002 IHT increases the number of professionals at the R&D&i and at the International departments in order to face up the challenges ahead.
In 2003 IHT inaugurates a new logistics site at Montmeló.
In 2004 IHT strengthened its management in order to speed up its development process.
2007-2010
IHT Biopur, a new division focussed on developing new polymers with medical applications, is created and brings up the first successes with a set of bioresistant and hydrophilic polymers.
Nowadays, and in order to satisfy the market needs, IHT continues to reserch, develope and innovate in new products in all three divisions.
