Biopur division develops specific biopolymers for medical applications. Achieving more efficient devices and less aggressive and invasive therapies. 

This research is based on the wide experience of the company in the field of polymers, and especially polyurethanes, combined with knowledge on design of medical devices.

Biopur has two basic research lines, whose main innovation resides in their therapeutical character and the possibility of modulating their properties depending on the final application.

In addition, these polymers can be used as a vehicle to release drugs:

- Biodegradable polymers in a period that can be from days to up to two years.

- Bioresistant polymers that can remain for long periods of time without losing their mechanical of physiological properties, thus increasing the life of the implant and avoiding operations to replace it.

Biopur offers this technology to companies making medical devices for the development of specific solutions, especially in the field of cardiac operations, but also in nephrology, neurology and orthopaedic implants, dental implants, etc.
